		<description><![CDATA[Peter Agno, 79 Peter C. Agno died at the age of 79. He is survived by his wife Judy nee Caoili; his children Emmanuel (Carmen) and Maria Cristina (Rudolph) Chambers; grandchildren Nathan and Cameron Agno, Peter Jordan “PJ” and Anthony John Jude “AJ” Chambers.; sibling of Pablo (Conception) and Antonia (Juanito) Sarangay. Mr. Agno’s funeral service was at the Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home. Delfin H. Brosas, 90 Delfin Brosas died July 26 at the age of 90 from old age and diabetes. His late wife was Gregoria Monedo; his children Consuelo Crame, Genovena Saret, Anastacia Sulte (deceased), Amado Brosas, Bonifacio Brosas (deceased), Merla Moraleda, and Martin Brosas. Mr. Brosas resided in Chicago and is originally from Liliw, Laguna. He worked as a wine-maker businessman and farmer. His body was sent to the Philippines Aug. 4 for interment at Liliw Cemetary in Laguna. Inocencio B. Maliwanag, 73 Inocencio B. Maliwanag died on Aug. 5 at the age of 73. He was the beloved husband of Benita nee Villanueva; loving father of Ian and Michael; loving brother.  and fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Mr. Maliwanag was employed as a machinist. 		<description><![CDATA[Joe Reyes, Filipino journalist TV pioneer Mr. Reyes died of a heart attack last May. He was one of the first Filipinos to develop and host Filipino television programs in the Chicagoland area. Mr. Reyes brought to the Filipino community the first TV programs in Tagalog titled “Philippine Hour.” He was also responsible for  the program “The Philippine Revue” which was a variety show during the 70’s on Channel 26. One of its segments was called Eskwelahang Munti which was designed to teach Fil-Am children their Filipino language. His efforts were not noticed when he was nominated by the 23rd annual Chicago Emmy Awards in the 1970’s for “Outstanding Achievement for Documentary Programs of Cultural Significance.” Joe graduated with a degree in Journalism from the University of Santo Tomas. Francisco L. (Toti) Juan died on June 16. He was 74.</p>
<p>He was the husband of Isabel Reyes Juan and loving father to Jimmy, Jovi and Josette. He was grandfather to Taj, Kino and Teo.<br />
Mr. Juan graduated from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management which led to a 45 year career in corporate management and finance. He served as President of MFMCP, a large mutual funds company in the Philippines. Before that he worked in the US as a VP-Treasurer/ Chief Financial Officer for Planmetrics, Inc, a consulting company.</p>
<p>His funeral was at Michalik Funeral Home in Chicago, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to Friends of the University of the Philippines Foundation in America (www.fupfa.com).•</p>

		<description><![CDATA[Dr. Justiti M. Candari, 61 Justito Magbanua-Candari MD, 61, of Bellaire, Ohio peacefully passed away on Thursday, May 20. He was born in Culasi, Antique. Dr. Candari is a 1974 graduate of the University of the East-Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center.  He moved to Chicago in 1980 to complete his residencies in general surgery and clinical anesthesia at Mount Sinai Medical Center and Cook County Hospital.  In 1984, he moved to Belmont Community Hospital as a full-fledged anesthesiologist, later having his own private practice and becoming chairman of the anesthesia department. Through the years Dr. Candari has been the president and treasurer of the Belmont County Medical Society, president and treasurer of the Ohio Valley Philippine Medical Association, and president of the Tri-State Filipino-American Association of Ohio, West Virginia, &#38; Pennsylvania.  Dr. Candari has led medical missions in his home province of Antique and has participated in medical missions in Pasay City and Roxas City. Aside from his profession, Dr. Candari has been a faithful servant to God.  He was a parishionaer of Saint John’s Catholic Church in Bellaire, Ohio. <p><em><strong>Mrs. Glenda S. Bayani, 60<br />
</strong></em>Glenda S. Bayani was the beloved spouse of Pedro L. Bayan and the  loving mother of Joeffrey S. Bayani.<br />
Mrs. Bayani resided in Skokie, IL. She worked as an ICU nurse for North Shore Medical Systems- Skokie Hospital for the last 5 years.</p>
<p>Her funeral will be at the Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home and her interment will be private.•</p>
<p><em><strong>Cashmere Castillo, 8<br />
</strong></em>The body of eight year old Cashmere Castillo, who accidently slipped into the Chicago River on May 16, emerged less than a mile away from where he was playing. Cashmere had stepped into a mud puddle while playing tag and was pulled in by the strong currents. The Chicago Police Department’s marine unit searched the Chicago River for a week.</p>
<p>Cashmere was the middle son of Willy and Merell Castillo; older brother of Carter aged 1; and younger brother of Christian aged 13. He was part of a gifted program at school.  He doted on Carter every time the baby cried. He had been described as “a kid with a big smile” whose interests were baseball and “Guitar Hero.”</p>
<p>Willy had taken some days off from work to volunteer to search for his son with other relatives and neighbors. Cashmere’s father is a resident of Chicago’s Northwest neighborhood since 1991 and married his wife Marell in 1996. Willy had said that he had warned Cashmere about playing ball near the river.</p>
<p>Cashmere’s funeral was on May 27 at the Smith Corcoran Funeral Home in Chicago. He will be laid to rest at then Bohemian National Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers are accepted to the Cashmere Castillo Memorial Fund c/o Albany Bank &amp; Trust at 3400 W. Lawrence, Chicago, IL 60625.•</p>
