Ambassador Domingo Lucenario Jr., 54

Philippine Ambassador to Pakistan Domingo Lucenario Jr., 54, died in a helicopter crash on May 8. Ambassador Lucenario was a career ambassador who served the Philippine government for over 25 years, according to the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). The Ambassador was also the Philippines’ nonresident ambassador to Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
Ambassador Lucenario is survived by his wife, lawyer Nida Arada Lucenario and three children. He was 54 years old. (PDI)

Rogelio G. Failma, M.D., 74

Rogelio Gapusan Failma, M.D. of Morton Grove passed away on May 18 at the Lutheran General Hospital. He was 74. He was a urologist at Provident Hospital of Cook County.
He was the husband of Arnolfa; father of Gigi (Michael) Kane, Roel (Tori) Failma, and Ramel (Sally) Failma, M.D.; grandfather of Michael Kane, Jr. and Nicole Kane, Andrew, Anthony and Andon Failma, Peter and Daniel Failma; and brother of Basilio (Corazon) Failma. Wake was held at Haben Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment at All Saints Cemetery.

Ursula C. Tamunday, 86

Ursula Castro Tamunday passed away on May 22 at the age of 86 at the St. Luke Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri. She was a teacher by profession.
She raised seven children after her husband Bernardo Tamunday passed at an early age. They all went on to finish college. Ursula is survived by her children: Joel, Noel, Roel, Rosemarie, Ronald, Roselyn, and Bernardo Jr. Ursula is the sister-in-law of Tony and Thelma Tamunday. Wake was held at Buchholz Mortuary West in Chesterfield, Missouri. Interment in the Philippines.

Rolando Carandang, 59

Rolando Carandang of Skokie passed away on May 11 at the age of 59. He is survived by his wife Jocelyn; survived by his children Ryan-Jay and Anne-Marie; survived by his siblings Cecilia (Paul) Manibo, Carling (Remedias) and Leonila (Nic). Wake was held at Haben Funeral Home. Interment private.

Raquel Angelio, 94

Raquel Angelio died on May 13 at the age of 94. She was predeceased by her husband Isaias Angelio; was themother of Calauman (Vito) Neri, Bitoon Angelio, Luz Verano, Roy (Nenita) Angelio, Teresita (Cesar) Onate, the late Himaya Angelio and Judith (Romeo) Guese; grandmother of Rachel Neri, Isaias Neri, Mayett (Charles) Shellenberger, Luzelle Neri, Ian Verano, Calvin Verano, Julie Rose Guese, Esiah Onate, Sicilly Angelio, Ann Raquel Guese and Jacquelyn Onate; great-grandmother of Charles and Alexandra Shellenberger; dear sister of Esther (late Arsenio) Baculanta, Jose (Adelfa) Mintalar, Rhodie (Perfecto) Llaguno, Leah Infante, Resia (Eddie) Banzuelo, the late Purificacion (Proculo) Bongabong and Joel (Peri) Mintalar.
A Celebration of Life Service was held at Drake & Son Funeral Home in Chicago.

Lorna Delos Santos, 78

Lorna Delos Santos passed away on May 15. She was 78. Wake was held at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home in Chicago. Internment at Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago.

Nieves V. Cabrera, 87

Nieves Ventura Cabrera, a former resident of Skokie and mother of Susan C. Paras (Ricardo), died in Manila on April 28. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos.
Along with Susan from Skokie, her sister Ging C. Romualdo of California and Rose (Mike) Cabrera of Canada, they went home for the funeral. Cremation was on May 3. She is also survived by her children Emma, Jinggoy (Lolit), Jimmy (Levy) and Gerry (Rheoda); and her many grandchildren including Frank and Francesca of Skokie.

Edilberto C. Razote, 85

Bert C. Razote, of Chicago, died on April 26 at the age of 85. He was the husband of Tina V. Razote; father of Region Eddie Razote and Romana V Razote (Leonilo) Laude; grandfather of 7 and great-grandfather of 6. Visitation was held at Drake and Son Funeral Home in Chicago. Interment in the Philippines.
