Dr. Ramon Ruiz Lipardo, M.D., 84

Dr. Ramon Ruiz Lipardo, of Chicago, died Dec. 1. He was 84. He was born in Hilongos, Leyte. He was a doctor, cousin, uncle, and colleague of many.

Dr. Lipardo went to Medical School at Manila Central University and graduated in 1958, and went on to place 10th in the Philippine Medical Board. He obtained his Residency in Pediatric Medicine at Mercy Hospital-Loyola University Clinics of Chicago in 1966. He also obtained his Pediatric Pathology Fellowship at Northwestern University Medical School in 1973. He was an Attending Physician at Columbus Cuneo Cabrini Medical Center, where he previously was Chief Resident of the hospital's newly started Pediatric Residency Training Program.

Likewise, he was a Board Certified Pediatric and Fellow of American Academy of Pediatrics while at St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital Center, Norwegian American Hospital, and St. Anthony Hospital.

After retiring from medical practice, he continued to be active in charity work with the Knights of Columbus, and served as Chapter President of Lions Club International. He was an active member of St. Matthias Parish, attending daily mass on his way to medical rounds.

Wake was held at Drake and Son Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at St. Matthias Church; Interment at Rosehill Cemetery.

Reggae singer-comedian Blakdyak, 46

MANILA--Singer and comedian Blakdyak was found dead at a rented room in Sampaloc, Manila Nov. 21.

Blakdyak, who is Joey Formaran in real-life, was found lifeless at around 6 p.m. He was 46.
According to a report by Mav Gonzales on "State of the Nation," a guard followed Blakdyak up to the rooftop of the building at around 11 p.m. The singer reportedly went back to his room afterwards.

His son found him in the room naked with a plastic bag wrapped around his head. He was last seen alive at around 2:30 a.m, according to an Inquirer News report
Police said they were not considering foul play in the incident, because the room was locked when Blakdyak was found.

Blakdyak gained fame in the early 2000's for reggae-themed singles such as "Modelong Charing" and "Good Boy." He also starred in several comedies such as "S2pid Luv" and "Weyt a Minut Kapeng Mainit," the report said.

Ryo S. Puzon of Glenview, IL died on Nov. 28. He was 48. Wake was held at Colonial-Wojciechowski Funeral Home in Niles. Memorial mass held at St. Isaac Jogues Parish. Cremation private.

Marilyn N. Manalo, 67

Marilyn N. Manalo, 67, of Wheeling, IL died on Dec. 10. She was the wife of Numeriano, mother of Veronica (Rod) Punzalan and the late Verlyn Gregorio Manalo.
Grandmother of Erika Lynn Punzalan. Sibling of Francia (Carlos) Banaag, Lilia Noche, Albert (Vivian) Noche, and the late Ernesto (Mina) Noche. A Memorial Mass was held Dec. 17 at St. Emily Catholic Church, in Mount Prospect.

Bienvenido A. Buhay , 85

Bienvenido A. Buhay died on Dec. 7 at the Swedish Covenent Hospital in Chicago. He was employed at the RCBC-Buendia, Makati in the late 70s. He was 85. Wake was held at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home in Chicago; Memorial mass at Queen of All Saints Basilica. Interment private.

Obdulio C. Castro, 90

Obdulio C. Castro, a resident of Skokie, died on Nov. 20. He was 90 years old. He was the husband of Adelaida; father of Hans (Susana), Armin, Raymund (Colleen), and Maria Cecelia (Herbert) Estacio; grandfather of six and great-grandfather of two; Visitation, Nov. 25 at Haben Funeral Home & Crematory in Skokie. Funeral November 26 from the funeral home for Massat St. Peter Catholic Church, Skokie. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery in Skokie.

Rosamaria F. Abrahan, 79

Carlo Austria Reyes passed away on Oct. 27. He was the husband of Peachy;  Rosamaria Flores Abrahan, 79, of Chicago passed away on Nov. 29 at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, IL. She was the wife of Romulo Abrahan. Visitation Dec. 2 at Drake & Son Funeral Home in Chicago where funeral services will were held. Interment to follow at Rosehill Cemetery Chicago, IL.

 Angeline T. Langit-Estrada, 60

Angeline T. Langit-Estrada died on Nov. 8. She was 60. Angeline was the wife of Rod; mother of Rodje; sister of Wil, Terry and Amy; sister-in-law of Degna and Elvira (Eric); aunt of Diana (Mike).

Wake was held Nov. 13 at Colonial-Wojciechowski Funeral Home in Niles. Funeral services held the following day from the funeral home, proceeding to Queen of All Saints Basilica for funeral Mass. Cremation will be private.
