Filomena Reyes Vda. De Panlilio, 94



Filomena Reyes Vda. de Panlilio died Dec. 31 at the University of Sto. Tomas Hospital in Manila. She was 94 years old. She was the wife of the late German Lopez of Mexico Pampanga. She was active as a church Lay leader and Lay missionary of the United Methodist Church in the Philippines. She is survived by her children Rev. Dr. Noah R. Panlilio, Marvelous P. Resurreccion (Arnie), Enna Ruth Stevens (Mark), Florizel Panlilio, and German Panlilio Jr., and grandchildren and great grandchildren. Wake and memorial service held at St. Peter Memorial Chapels in Manila. Interment Holy Cross Manila Memorial Park in QC with funeral rites officiated by Bishop Rudolfo A. Juan and her son Rev. Noah Panlilio. A forty-day celebration will be held on Feb. 5.

Francisca G. Yabes, 92

Francisca G. Yabes died on Jan. 4 at the age of 92. She was a native of San Manuel, Tarlac. She was the widow of Osias D. Yabes Sr; mother of Dr. Mina (Dr. Armando Reniva) Jaskowiak-Reniva, the late Lerma (Vic) Ancheta, Reynaldo (Marina) Yabes, Atty. and former Philippine Secretary of the Senate Oscar (Didi) Yabes, Froilan (Cecilia) Yabes, Danilo (Candida) Yabes, Samuel (Amy) Yabes, Brendes (Vicky) Yabes, Osias (Remy) Yabes, Jr., Virginille (Nick) Palella, Cynthia (Fred) Rubio, Imelda Yabes, and Ferdinand (Heidi) Yabes. She was the grandmother of 36 and great grandmother of 31. Wake was held at Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Funeral service held at Elston Avenue United Methodist Church. Interment Maryhill Cemetery.

Remigia A. Ortega, 88

Remigia A. Ortega passed away on Dec. 8. She was 88. She was the wife of Ricardo; mother of Zenaida (Cyrus) Zosa, Lillian (Albert) Montuya, Cherry (Samuel) Trocio, Ranier, Ronald (Sharon), and Russell (Anna Marie); grandmother of 15; great-grandmother of two; and sibling of Alberto Amatong. Wake was held in December at Haben Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral and memorial mass held at St. Peter Catholic Church. Interment Maryhill Catholic Cemetery.

Dominador A. Babas, 85

Dominador A. Babas, aged 85, passed away on Jan. 1. He was the father of Dominador Jr. (Ruby) Babas, Nelson (Sally) Babas, Edgardo (Cecille) Babas, Elizabeth (Oliver) Balda and Wilfredo (Lalaine) Babas. He was the grandfather of Donna, Darlene, Digi Ann., Donraniel, J.C., Ica, Edcel, Justin, Bryan, Anne, Diane, Lorraine, Carla, Renz, Igi and great grandpa of Jayden, Xander, Dudeng, Julian, Bry and Sebastian. Sibling of Geralda Babas and Linda Babas. Visitation Jan.6 at Colonial-Wojciechowski Funeral Home. Funeral Jan. 7 from the funeral home to St. John Brebeuf for memorial Mass. Interment Maryhill Cemetery.

Bienvenido A. Buhay, 85

Bienvenido A. Buhay died on Dec. 7 at the Swedish Covenent Hospital in Chicago. He was employed at the RCBC-Buendia, Makati in the late 70s. He was 85. Wake was held at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home in Chicago; Memorial mass at Queen of All Saints Basilica. Interment private.

Cesar Javier, 72

Cesar Javier, a native of Laguna, died on Nov. 28. He was 72 years old. He is survived by his wife Procerfina; children Lauren, Olivia and Sheryle (Matt); grandchildren Mona, Nathan, and Jenny. Cesar graduated with a degree in chemical engineering from UST in Manila. He was President & CEO of Home Visiting Physicians and President of Absolute Home Care. Wake held at Loyola Memorial Chapel QC. Cremation on Dec. 10. Memorial service was held Dec. 26 at the Holiday Inn in Carol Stream, IL.

Judy O. Alcober, 62

Judy Ong Alcober passed away on Dec. 30 at the of age 62 at Resurrection Medical Center Rainbow Hospice Ark. She finally succumbed after more than three long years of debilitating illness due to stroke and Parkinsonism. She is survived by her husband Adolfo Alcober; sons Randolf and Marc; siblings Mary Ong Fermasin, David Ong, Jimmy Ong, William Moran, and Philip Ong. She graduated from UST in May of 1974 as a Medical Technologist. Eventually, she opened up an apparel store in Manila, Pampanga and Zambales. Upon her arrival to the US, she worked as a Medical Technologist for over 35 years at Illinois Masonic Medical Center. She held a second job at Evanston Hospital for a similar length of time.
Wake held at River Woods Funeral Chapel in Des Plaines, Illinois followed by a eulogy. Funeral mass held by Father Moises Alcober Apostol, parish priest in Savanna, IL. Cremation and interment to follow.

 Ludivina H. Bustalino, 79

Ludivina Hamoy Bustalino passed away on Jan. 2. She was 79. She was predeceased by her husband Demetrio E., ; Mother of Genero Marlon (Greta), Theresa "Pinky" (Arnold) DeGuzman, Demetrio E., Jr. "Troy" (Nilda) and Margarita "Intsik" (Oliver) Vidal; Grandmother of Mica, Tom, Icah, Katrina, Tria, Martin, Hannah and Abby. Siblingn of Medy (late Ali) Adasa, Jasmin (Mila) Hamoy, Jun (Mimi) Hamoy, Filomena Hamoy, late Lorna (late Custodio) Padao, late Elmo (Emilia) Hamoy, late Atoy (Virgie) Hamoy. Faithful companion of "Kowfer". Wake held at Colonial-Wojciechowski Funeral Home in Niles. Interment in Dapitan City Cemetery.

Numeriano C. Manalo, Jr., died on Dec. 22 at the age of 67. He was predeceased by wife Marilyn, who passed away less than two weeks before him. He was the father of Veronica (Rod) Punzalan. Grandfather of Erika. Sibling of Aida (Pablo) Reyes, Corazon (Rogelio) Ordonez, Antonio (Mila), late Regio (Josie), late Lolita Manalo, late Adolfo (Lita), late Jose Pablo, and the late Tita Manalo.Wake was held Dec. 30. Funeral Mass held at St. Emily Catholic Church in Mt. Prospect IL. Cremation private.
