The official website of the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago will migrate to the Philippine Government Webhosting Service (GWHS).
Effective July 11, the Consulate will stop using www.chicagopcg.com and its new official web address or Uniform Resource Locator (URL) shall be
The new website will bear the Department of Foreign Affairs' (DFA) standard web design and features. It will be fully operational once migration is completed with all the relevant information and downloadable forms found in its current website.

Under Administrative Order No. 39 issued by the Office of the President, all government offices, as well as inter-agency collaborations, programs and projects are directed to migrate their websites to GWHS within a year from 12 July 2013. "Workshop of Wonders" for kids ages 3-15, July 29-Aug. 1st at Elston Ave. UMC

OKOR 5th USA Regional Conference, Aug. 29-Sept. 1
"Rizal Is Alive In Us" will be the theme of the 5th biennial conference of the Order of the Knights of Rizal hosted by the fraternity's Ohio Chapter on Aug. 29 to Sept. 1st at the Double Tree Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio.
The symposium's theme for this year is "Rizal Is Alive In Us; We Shine Like A Prism Through K.O.R. Leadership" which speaks of the importance and relevance of Rizal's ideals through leadership, both then and now.
Jerry C. Singson, the OKOR Supreme Commander, leads a battery of selected speakers which also includes Tom Rodriguez, OKOR U.S.Regional Commander, Brunswick, Ohio Mayor Ron Falconi. Dr. Joy Kouns-Lewis, PH.D., and Dr. Nelin Retizos.
Officers and members of the host chapter are also sponsoring a tour of the tourist attractions in the area and a dinner-dance night.

JDC Rainbow Foundation Dinner Dance, Aug. 2
The JDC Rainbow Foundation invites the Filipino American community to its 1st Anniversary Dinner Dance on August 2nd (Saturday). It will be held at Itasca Country Club, 400 East Orchard, Itasca, IL, 60145.
JDC is a non profit organized by a group of compassionate individuals who seek to assist children, the disabled and the less fortunate in Philippine communities.
Last year's proceeds were donated to the following: 1) Childrens Joy Foundation, Inc. (CJFI) - $3,500 in manager's check and kind, 2) GMA Kapuso Foundation (Unang Hakbang sa Kinabukasan - $1,000 in manager's check, 3) Gawad Kalinga (Typhoon Haiyan) - $1,000 and 4) Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) - $300 plus personal cash donations and two hours volunteer work. We also held a Benefit Dance for Schoolchildren last Apri 4th at Lone Tree Manor and was able to raise a net amount of $2,064.88, of which $1,500 was sent to CJFI in time for the opening of classes and school needs of the children.
This year's proceeds will be donated to the following: CJFI, GMA Kapuso Foundation, FMSC and Operation Smile. Please come, have dinner, dance, enjoy and at the same time feel good for sharing your time, effort and hard-earned money to support a worthy charitable cause. Just a little help in our own way would make a big difference in other people's lives!
The attire is formal. There will be a donation of $50 per person.

FACC 40th Anniversary Inaugural Ball, Sept. 6
The Filipino American Council of Chicago (FACC) marks its 40th year anniversary with a inaugural ball on Saturday, Sept. 6, from 6:30 pm to 1:00 a.m. at the Crowne Plaza, 5440 River Road, Rosemont, Illinois.
The installation of the newly elected officers led by its president Dr. Rufino Crisostomo, vice president Thelma Bascos and the federation's board of directors and trustees will highlight the day's event.
Donation is $60 per person, net proceed goes to the renovation of the Jose Rizal Cultural Center, 1332 W. Irving Park, Chicago. Attire is formal or Filipiniana.
